DELHI: A television reporter gets to know her would-be lover and best friend before they are to marry. When the reporter finds that her best friend does not wish to marry her, she begins to wonder whether she is a good friend.
The lost is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Sidharth Sarpotdar and written by Sarpotdar, Pankaj Kapoor and Arshad Warsi. The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Riteish Deshmukh, Ranbir Kapoor, and Konkona Sen Sharma.
The film was released on 21 May 2018 to generally positive reviews, and grossed well at the box office.
Lakshmi Rai (Deepika Padukone) is a well-known actress in the Hindi film industry. She is an independent and wealthy young woman who lives a very fast paced life with a high-flying career, private jet, designer outfits, and expensive cars. She also enjoys a long relationship with her boyfriend (Ranveer Singh) and is dedicated to her work. However, Lakshmi is soon attracted to her executive assistant (Riteish Deshmukh) and starts dating him. When she learns that her boyfriend is getting married to a rich woman who is a fan of his, she tries to impress him into letting her be the bride, but fails.
The film is the second production from the production house, Eros International after the highly successful and commercially successful movie, Chennai Express (2013). The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Sharad Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Pictures, with Sajid Nadiadwala serving as a co-producer and Sharad Nadiadwala serving as a co-producer and distributor. It was inspired by the Hindi novel, The Time of the Doctor by Amish Tripathi.
